I am an Academic Associate at the undergraduate History programme at Azim Premji University, Bhopal.
I hold a Master’s in Anthropology from Stanford University, and a Master’s and an MPhil in Ancient History/Archaeology from Jawaharhal Nehru University. I have been a field archaeologist for over a decade, with extensive experience in survey and excavation. (Full Academic CV here.)
Professionally, I have worked in travel publishing, online news and academic publishing. I have edited academic articles for Cactus Communications (2014), the SAGE journal Studies in History (2015-2018), and edited and helped annotate Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s manuscript Riddles in Hinduism for Navayana Books (2016).
In addition, I have several years’ experience in video subtitling and editing, for companies including Netflix, Amazon Prime, and the BBC.
Editing book projects, PhD dissertations, journal articles, blogs, etc. I am well-versed in CMS, MLA, and APA stylesheets, as well as EndNote, Mendeley, and Zotero citation managers.
Research in social sciences, especially history, archaeology, anthropology, sociology, and political science. I’m especially interested in working on blogs, magazine articles, podcasts and other forms of public media that brings academic discourse to a larger audience.
Transcription and subtitling for academic and non-academic videos, podcasts, interviews.
